Thanks, makes sense, my apologies! I did wonder why I was scheduled to spend 40-odd minutes at Rochdale instead of Manchester Victoria, for a train passing through both!!
Thanks 30907.
1. I'm not sure they can consider anything fraudulent, I went on 2 of the 4 trains on the first itinerary, then the 2 trains on the second itinerary, and finished my journey on the last train back on the first itinerary!!
2. I did assume that as the last station on the route of...
Actually, having written that long message, I think the answer is much simpler.
The original BRI to BYM was 1h1m late so 100% delay repay.
The second Shrewsbury to Piccadilly trip ended up 2h2m late so 100% delay repay.
So, it's two seperate claims, and I'll swallow the £1.40 tram fare!
Hi all, thanks for any help you can offer.
On Thursday last week, I bought tickets here for a journey on Friday from Bristol Temple Meads (BRI) to Burnley Manchester Road (BYM) consisting of 3 tickets:
1. BRI to Chester (CTR) via Newport - anytime single via Hereford (£37) for the 12:57 from...
Hi all,
I'm not sure whether I've made the correct representations to Northern, would the great minds here please give me an opinion?
On 31/7/25, at 23:17, I purchased from a TVM at Manchester Victoria an Anytime Day Single from Manchester Stations to Burnley Manchester Road valid only via...
Nobody seems to have considered the legal duty of care that "the railway" has to all passengers. Instead of pointing fingers, some risk assessment style questions need asking. If there had been a fire on that train, in the station, who was responsible for the Baroness' safety?
The following...
After all the moaning about the toilet problems, I wonder how long this same person would spend on that problem in their Youtube video on the same subject, published yesterday?
First class for Zurich -> Cologne -> Brussels
But, yes we know its more expensive, but we negated the added complexity that it would have entailed. I think we're within £200 of the interrail price with my rough guesswork!
As promised, the outcome of this - and not using Interrail as that was a hurdle too far!

Without using the postal service, and not being in a major transport hub, makes this rather difficult for them!
E-tickets now must be "checked-in" before you board the train... Electronic version of validating paper tickets.
Thank you everybody for your most helpful suggestions.
I'm reticent to even consider recommending the interrail idea, in the knowledge that they'll have to install and get to grips with a new app without any of our technical assistance available.
I struggle with the RailEurope / TrainLine...
Hi all,
I'm after some advice. I have a couple of aging relatives in Bagni di Lucca. One of them has been in hospital there recently, and we just want to get them home in the most expeditious manner whilst minimising the changes and hassle. After a lot of to-and-fro-ing, we've come up with...
Also, the more EVs we can get plugged in and re-feeding the power grid when required, will help create a country-wide huge battery for soaking up the intermittent green supplies of electricity!
