I should've been more specific as I know there's a big difference in how much of the rule book a driver needs to know compared to a shunter & the fact that mainline drivers travel at higher speeds, I think it was more of a 'is it worth a shot applying because I drive a train.. Not qualified on...

Does anyone know if manoeuvre/shutters are classed as qualified drivers as far as applying for mainline jobs is concerned? I'm guessing as long as you know the traction for the job you're applying for its route knowledge you need to learn?
