Yeah, I did get on the train at Oxford Road yesterday. I think the liverpool train around a similar time went to another platform as this train was delayed.
Forgot to mention, a lady bound for liverpool got onto the train and maybe 3 minutes into the journey realised that she was on the wrong train. Her reaction when the next stop would be Bolton was - there weren't any announcements when I got into the train. I presume it's easy enough for people...
Sorry I meant that the train had stopped at MCO and saw some people filming something on their mobile phones when a couple of the staff went into a carriage and, as Iwas just keen to get in I couldn't see what the fuss was about....
The train for Glasgow/Barrow furness was delayed by about 10 minutes at Manchester Oxford this evening -it was the 1718 train. Does anyone know what thge reason was?
Is this possible to be at Bache for 8 AM? National rails and Eastcoast rail websites options don't show this in the morning? any tips for a quicker journey to be at Bache by 8 is appreciated.
It's do with the timinf, need to be in bache by 8 and travelling via northern rail becomes a necessity. Just the switch from TPE to a northern rail train makes such a big difference - end up sitting spreadeagled on northern rail due to limited legroom and no head support either + no heating...
My assessment of comfort's based on leg room, heating and ability to sit in a comfortable position/ being able to doze/ nod off - it's impossible on northern rail :(

Yep, Bolton to Bache :(
Since I started commuting by train, I have realised that the comfort levels in different trains/ train companies varies significantly.
My commute involves travelling by transpennine express, arriva wales, merseyside and northernrail. I find TPE to be the best followed by arriva wales and then...
I have been commuting from Bolton to Bache (near Chester) for about a month now. - I leave home at about 05:15 to get the train at 0543 and reach Bache by 0756.
The evening's relatively quicker. Leave Bache at 1606 and reach Bolton by 1745. I try to have a snooze/nap on the train if I can -...
Evening folks,
I find a bit of a discrepancy on the National rail site when I search for trains Bache(BAC) in the morning. There's a ticket for a train from BON(Bolton) to MAN(Manchester Picc) at 0543 and from MAN to CTR(Chester) at 0618 if I search for trains from Bolton to Bache.
When I...
Sorry Nym, didn't get that. Where's Thwates Tyres and which station are you referring to? Is this the station in Kirkby? Looks like I may be using the Bolton, Kirkby,Liverpool Bache option to be in Bache by 8ish as the trains via Wigan/Warrington is less at that time.
