From what I've read 195's won't get near this service. The units replaced by the 331,195 will be cascaded to other services or scrapped if they are 14x units
A number of the services on the Bolton to Clitheroe line are currently made up of a single Class 153 plus a 14x/150/156 giving a grand total of 3 carriages. When it's short formed with the 153 missing it either misses stops or it's crammed beyond belief.
With the roll-out of the 195/331 and the...
My Local: Hall I' TH' Wood (10/10 for the name and it was a winner on Pointless)
Setting: Set above the ring road around Bolton, very exposed to the elements
Architecture: Wood
Services: 2tph was just 1 until recently, a big improvement
Rolling Stock: Class 156/150/142 plus a 153 if we are...
Must admit I'm a bit confused by this. On my train (319) from Horwich Parkway to Preston (7:31) last monday, the train arrived 3 minutes early, between HWI and Chorley we hit 84mph according to my phone, between BPV and Preston we hit 89 mph (on the WMCL). Couldn't check it on the way back due...

Wow, thought my eyes where deceiving me when I first saw this. I took a 30 sec video so I didn't miss the brother of all bases. On Tuesday it was shuttered and steel in but no concrete.
Today it's been concreted and the shuttering has been removed. Yes removed.
The video is too large to load...
The Gravity "Base of the century" just south of the Squeeze Belly Entry footbridge (approx. 8m 67ch) now has a brother, it looks like the preceding base coming from Farnworth towards Bolton.
All of the steel work is in and it's shuttered ready for the pour of concrete. I'll try and get a photo...
Trip in today Bolton to MCO, Can confirm 3 pilings added , 2 in one location and 1 in the other where they had taken out the stone wall and driven in steel to act as a retaining wall. See 9948k and 9948m Pendleton old on the photos for the exact location. Certainly more dangly bits as the weeks...
Had another trip from HID to Manchester today.
Spotted what looked like bolts protruding from the concrete footbridge (old entrance) that goes over Salford Crescent on platform 2.
Also looks like bases and some masts are in around the gap near the overhead cables that run across near Kearsley...
