I was on 1S19, the 14:03 from Kings Cross to Aberdeen. With a planned connection at York to my final destination of Scarborough. The train was held at Peterborough for 2 hours. Passengers were getting a lot of mixed messages from staff, several said the issue was north of Doncaster but a TM said...
No request to change a date or time of travel, and I’m sure of that because I bought both tickets.
Unfortunately not. I initially emailed them but they didn’t respond so in the end I had to phone them. On the phone they told me that the ticket was valid and to take it up with TPE. They did...
Yes, sorry. When I said one wouldn’t scan what I meant is it wouldn’t scan as valid. It was scanned but said it had been cancelled on the handheld device.
Back in November I was travelling on TPE with my partner. We both had Advance Single e-tickets, both for the same train, and we were on the correct train.
One of our two tickets would not scan on the conductor’s machine, as it said the ticket had been cancelled. So he told me I had to take it...
They do have them but they don’t work well much of the time because staff are busy on other matters. My typical user experience is a loud burst of static and then nothing. I often have to press the button several times and sometimes have to wait a couple of minutes.
Regardless, even if they did...
Sorry if this is the wrong sub forum I wasn’t sure where to put it.
I am a holder of a Disabled Person’s Railcard and frequently travel across the country on various lines and TOCs.
I find that on Chiltern my tickets are routinely automatically rejected by the barriers and I have to request...
I’ve noticed the same thing at York. For example today it said the train would stop in zones 8-10. Instead it stopped in 13-15.
I did wonder if the train would even be visible from zone 8 due to the curved platform. it’s possible someone could miss the train because of this
Hi.
A friend is planning on travelling from Highams Park to Chelmsford and then later on the same day travelling from Chelmsford to Burnham (Bucks). This would be on a Sunday, and they have no railcard.
I've spent the last 30 minutes trying different combinations to work out the best value for...
I heard back from a manager at Chiltern this morning and they confirmed what everyone here said which is that the ticket was indeed valid.
They apologised for the inconvenience at Marylebone and that I had been given incorrect information by staff both at Marylebone and at head office.
They...
I emailed them again, this time with a link to the restrictions code on the ticket to show it was valid, and asked that they escalate it to their manager, and this is what I got back:
They seem to have read the restrictions and got confused by this part, but as i’m sure everyone here realises...
Thank you for all the responses.
For LNER’s part they have already told me that they will refund me half the cost of my ticket and it will be added to my bank account in the next few days, so good job LNER.
Chiltern however, still insist that I wasn’t entitled to travel on the ticket. Here’s...
Thanks for your reply.
I will certainly complain and attempt claim delay repay.
Out of interest could you link me to the thread for the similar incident you mentioned from this week? I would like to read that one.
Hello everybody.
Yesterday I traveled down from Scarborough to Beaconsfield on a Super Off-Peak single.
My planned itinerary was as follows
11:48 Scarborough
12:38 York (TPE)
12:58 York
14:48 King's Cross (LNER)
15:40 Marylebone
16:03 Beaconsfield (Chiltern)
The LNER leg was delayed by...
I finally got a response from the BBC to a complaint I made about an episode of Match of the Day.
In the episode they showed replays of an incident involving a Manchester United player who was knocked to the ground by an opposition player. They deliberately altered the footage by remove frames...
I do wonder if some of the people who have posted here weren't quite aware of the severity of the abuse Collymore has been victim of. It's important that people see that he's been subjected to death threats and some of the most vicious racism. It isn't just from that one account or just a recent...
