    This is the answer - thank you! I had no idea about the Charing Cross blockade and the ticket search was saying ‘no tickets yet released’ rather than ‘Waterloo East closed’. Have changed destination to London Bridge and now working.

    Thanks very much for the insight. Southeastern haven’t released any new advance tickets for the last two Thursdays. Feels like this may be as simple as ‘the person who normally does it is on holiday’.
