Greater Anglia - Trainee Driver - Recruitment Discussion

I'm in a similar position. Passed stage 1 back in June last year and never been invited to stage 2. I've emailed twice and been told my application is still live, but they can't give me a date for the second stage. Not sure whether to reapply or not.

    Greater Anglia - Trainee Mainline/Depot Driver - Various (12/04/24)

Just had an email to say I'm still on the list for stage 2 at some point. So there's still hope for those of us that completed stage 1 earlier this year.

    Freight Spotting Cambridgeshire

I'd like to find a spot that's quiet to watch freight trains, ideally where I can easily park and walk to a secluded location. I don't want to be on a station platform or anywhere with loads of people. I have Peterborough and March as my two destinations. If anyone can suggest somewhere that...

    Greater Anglia - Trainee Mainline/Depot Driver - Various (12/04/24)

Did anyone else hear any further or are all these applications dead now? I did email asking for an update and didn't get a response. Does anyone know an alternative email to contact?

No I haven't heard anything since the email confirming I had passed stage 1. I'll get in contact and see what they say.

Yeah same here. Passed stage 1 end of June then nothing. Looks like we're back to square one.

If it's just a SJT for the initial assessment has anyone done this on a phone or is a PC required?

Class 58's in France cut up

Apologies if I'm a bit late and this has already been discussed but this video just popped up on YouTube of the stored class 58 locos in France. A very sad sight.

    GBRf Class 77

I couldn't see a thread for this already and appears to be a recent announcement. Looks like a few more European 66's and a new class 77 locomotive are on their way. https://news.railbusinessdaily.com/gb-railfreight-announces-new-10-year-locomotive-leasing-deal-with-akiem/

    A career as a signaller

Glad I'm not the only one to think that! I've applied for Cambridge.

    A career as a signaller

It's been a year or so since I last applied for a signaller position so my first go at the new application process. I enjoyed it all up until the final memory test. That was horrible. Just have to sit tight and keep everything crossed now.

GBRF confirms conversion of Class 56s to Class 69s

Are any of these likely to be returning to Peterborough at any point? Just noticed they passed my workplace in Huntingdon yesterday and would have loved to catch a glimpse of them.

Whittlesey - collision between freight train and tractor. (19/08/21)

As much as this is a regrettable incident and I am glad there were no serious injuries I am enjoying the additional intermodal traffic passing my work near Huntingdon at the moment.

Applying for NR position via Indeed

Hi all, there is a position with Network Rail I want to apply for which is listed on Indeed but not on the Network Rail external careers page. When I try to apply via Indeed and log in to my existing NR account it doesn't recognize my details (which I know to be correct). Does anyone know if the...
