It would be kind if they could be delayed a couple of weeks, as I’ve filmed them all so far bar the early running 005 & 006 but will be out of the country until Sep 1st. Also Portbury would be nice as there’s better locations to film and less of a shlep than going to Henbury or Avonmouth.
At one time there were proposals for a stations at Marsh Lane and around Osmondthorpe (near Neville Hill), but I guess that is in the long grass alongside Armley and other potential suburban station reopenings.
I presume any four tracking would just be from Neville Hill up to Garforth to keep the local stoppers out of the way, but wouldn’t involve the hugely expensive and disruptive work of trying to get four tracks from City Station to Marsh Lane. I know the latter is desirable but it’d require...
Presumably this means the quad tracking will be paired by direction rather than speed? Doesn’t it then get messy at the junction at Micklefield, do they have plans for grade separation there?
What are the odds of the car factory closing at some point and a massive housing scheme being built on the site? There must be huge value on that land, increased by the addition of a good rail link.
I think it’s a good thing, as it probably held off it being converted irreversibly to some other use. They’d have just built car storage right across the formation in Portbury given half a chance, with vague promises to reinstate if needed that would have just put the project out of bounds...
At work I’ll routinely come in to lock up in the evening and find all three pairs of air conditioners left on with the windows open. People really don’t understand how these are supposed to work!

But these are blatantly false claims and deceptive. That’s not legal.
How about a law requiring all ads delivered on the internet to have a human review by the publisher? It’d cost the companies a bit to do this but then they’re not short of a bob or two, and it’s just basic decency.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/fDYEZ9xCq7huFyp36?g_st=ic around here. You can still see stonework in the bushes from the cycle track but it’s very hidden by trees. When I was younger there were no bushes at all so it was easily visible from Marsh Lane bridge.
Not 100% sure it is a station building...
The one I’m seeing most adverts for doesn’t even have the water evaporation, it’s just a cheap fan in a box.
It’s the latest scam brought to you from the people behind the small plug-in heaters that were being advertised over winter as using 90% less energy, again breaching the laws of...
Which preserved lines have them? I believe the Great Central does, and some at the Northampton and Lamport I think.
They’re an essential part of the scenery if recreating a certain area so would be nice to see more, even mock-up ones with say nylon rope replacing the cables, just to look the...
There is now an ECS train (5H35) from Filton Abbey Wood to Hallen Marsh Jn and back on the timetable.

I spotted this while waiting for 99011 to come out of the docks this afternoon. It terminates just past the...
Portbury shipyard station building is still there, hidden by ivy and trees. I spotted it a couple of weeks ago from the cyclepath, wasn’t sure it was still standing. It was very prominent 40 years ago when I was growing up in the area! The building was level with the track, but possibly the...
It also disguises diesel locos if they’re on the back of a steam charter providing ETH. Matching the colour of the stock means they doesn’t stand out as much, which will suit steam purists.
