I have memories back in the 80s of the Fort William portion of the sleeper running with 2 sleeper coaches and the 2 day coaches.
Not sure you can get much shorter than that and still call it a sleeper :)
I was watching it move on Traksy and it did run via Portobello Jn to Prestonpans UPL where it reversed and then headed into Millerhill via Monktonhall Jn. I didn't note the time of arrival but it was around 22:00, maybe slightly earlier.
If there is a problem with diesel mode then that would...
Are the clearance issues not at Portobello Junction though?
They were originally meant to run via the Sub this evening which they are cleared for, unless I've misread some posts, which is entirely possible!
Thanks - I saw that but if it's a problem with the changeover could they not have just run on diesel all the way from Waverley and not need to changeover?
Not sure if there is an issue but Traksy is still showing 0Q42 in Edinburgh as of 21:08 with realtime trains showing a departure time of 20:12 but then nothing at Princes St Gardens.
I was planning on going to Camelon to see them but not sure if that will happen now....
And then there's
Cowlairs East Junction
Cowlairs West Junction
Cowlairs South Junction
All around Eastfield - or do these not count as being too close to Queen Street?
And Cowlairs North Junction on the way to Ashfield.
Is platform 8 at Stirling used for anything other than stabling stock nowadays?
I know there is the odd departure from 7 but couldn't find anything from 8.
I'm guessing it's the points that lead from P6 to Stirling North that are a hand point?
Otherwise https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:P84389/2024-10-17/detailed would be able to leave P9 and head straight to Stirling North instead of going via Stirling Middle & P2?
I know you are really busy and totally appreciate your fantastic site.
I dropped a message to info@ in February about some issues between Stirling & Dunblane and was just curious if it's on your to-do list?
Not a big issue so no worries at all if it's not a priority.
Thanks
