I was down in Southport last and saw one of the arriva E200MMCs in metro livery. Just curious is southport and the surrounding areas part of the franchise, if so when does it take place.
The Carnoustie to dundee 4bph is welcome indeed, better than the pre-covid/conductor era but it's only 1bph to ninewells as opposed to 2bph. Also, is muirdrum village no longer being served from September.
The 73 appears no longer serving Cliffburn, instead a new 76A replaces it.
Waterfront hotel, southport
Stayed there with my parents for 1 night (Monday to Tuesday), excellent breakfast (dinner menu was poor, so went to wetherspoons instead) and great room with the view towards Blackpool
The white hart inn, nettlebed
Stayed there from Tuesday to Thursday with my parents and my dog. Terrific pub/hotel with excellent food. Only 10mins drive from M42 and Henley-on-Thames
XC are extending their Edinburgh services to Glasgow Central every 2hrs, which includes a direct train from Bournemouth.
The early morning 2A01 dundee to Aberdeen now start from Edinburgh at 0530
Bit of topic regarding electrification but the disused platform 3 at arbroath could potentially be reinstated sometime in the future as vegetation was recently cut back
Given that the games are due to start in over 100 days time. Do we know if there is going to dedicated shuttle buses for the games or will people travel on existing services to the venues. Can't seem to find any information regarding public transport for the games in Glasgow anywhere so far.
I noticed on Scot-Rail.groups.io that OHL installation between Thornton and Seafield, Kirkcaldy was due to begin at the weekend and last until end of next year
