It turns out there are some practical difficulties that I did not consider. I have to active the smartcard/season ticket and the LNER app does not list any stations in Scotland at which to do this

If I purchase a season ticket on the Edinburgh-Glasgow route from LNER and load it on an LNER smartcard, will that be accepted on Scotrail services? Alternatively, is there a way to load an LNER-purchased season ticket onto a Scotrail smartcard?

These trains sometimes have first class seating, but it seems you can’t book a first class ticket. Is first class on these services declassified?

If the these trains were running to Dunblane or Alloa, what would happen to Lenzie, Bishopbriggs etc.? Lenzie folks are already a wee bit piqued...

Has anyone else noticed an electrical burning smell/burnt clutch smell with these trains? I only notice it now and again and it doesn't seem to cause any obvious problems.
