GWML electrification is having problems as I'm sure we all know, but I'd be interested in Mr. Moo's take on the following;
I work for FGW and this is what we are hearing from official and unofficial sources.
1.The High Output Electrification Train is not working as expected, and the piling operation is damaging the old signalling cables even if they are several feet from the actual site.
2. Cost escalation will mean the Thames Valley Branches will not be wired meaning we will have to leave a larger fleet of DMUs at Reading than was planned for.
3. That design issues around Bath and Temple Meads clearance work is proving so problematical, South Wales will see IEP services before Chippenham and Bath route can be completed, and that only some platforms at Bristol will be electrified.
Thanks.
