It was only when I looked at this industry, when I realised how much better they treat their professionals here! And the money is quite honestly fantastic. So yes, trying to get my foot in the door, got an interview with MTR crossrail coming up, how much do you think I should use my pilot experience to my advantage? I could relate to my skills and experiences from it to help answer almost all questions they throw at me I reckon, but at the same time I don't want to push that card too hard if you know what I mean...

How are your applications going up North?

Cheers in advanced for any advice.
I understand where you are coming from, with regards to all the effort just to get to the aircraft on a cold winters morning, it gets to you!

I was with Easy yes, then Monarch, and was just made redundant by Monarch last year with a bunch of others, only for them to go and hire a bunch of 200 hour cadets (each paying 30k for a rating!) to replace us, on much worse T&C's than we were on...The industry is going down the drain, the bean counters try and shaft us in anyway possible and I just decided enough was enough, only been in it 5 years, but still there was nowhere for me to go even if i wanted to, nobody wants experience anymore...
sure post through your email - been in aviation for a long time, started as a flight instructor then flew many turbo props then a Lear now airliners, I have just had enough really, health concerns, duty times, all the crap we have to go through just to get to the aircraft, staff parking - security - crew room - then a half a mile walk to the gate ....

Its been a good career and I achieved what I wanted too, now time for a change. I am looking at this as there are so many similarities but different, also looking at the artillery reserve and flying drones.........

I take it you are with Easy jet lol
    Hi there iaveight,

I can't seem to PM you as I'm newly registered. It sounds like you're a current/former airline pilot looking to make the transition to train driver, is this right? If so I am doing exactly the same as you and was just wondering what made you want to make the switch and what your experience has been so far? We could exchange emails if you dont want to post in public.

    Cheers
Hi there, is this in relation to First Group / Scot Rail, if so I had an email saying I was short listed and to fill in my depot preferences which I have done, online tests were the situation and data checking tests.......
    Hi Iaveight,

Did you complete the stage online 2 test, how did it go?....I have applied for the position as well. Apart from general questions did it detail other tough questions.

    Regards,

    snash
