I did post on here some months ago about this and the use of Ex Gatwick coaches on the heart of wales line , there was active discussion about stopping the London to Swansea electrification at Bristol , I suspect it was too much of a political hot potato or negotiating ploy to have some sort of...
It came from someone involved on the political front , so must be taken with pinch of salt simply because they are political and I , at least , am always suspicious of an agenda , the excuse being lack of funds , Brexit blah blah. My flabber was gasted simply because I could not contemplate...
I am lead to believe it is quite possible that it will stop at Bristol now despite the tunnel being dealt with , seems hard to believe they would do that having spent on the tunnel . In addition it is possible they will use some of the old Gatwick express stock on the Welsh Marches , presumably...
I would be quite happy to put a substantial amount on them not having completed electrification to Swansea within ten years .
Of course eventually many things will happen , lets extend that to what will happen in a hundred years time , my point is that it will not be remotely close to the...
As I posted much earlier in the thread , the electrification will never get beyond Cardiff , it was inevitable they were never going to spend the money , it's rather like building a two lane motorway beyond the Severn Bridge , you drive along it thinking what fool thought this was a good idea ...
It transpires the catenary installation already installed in Swansea is for maintenance of the bi mode vehicles regardless of whether they ever complete electrification to Swansea station , which seems highly unlikely , I can hear the excuses already for it to end in Cardiff , run out of money...

The trouble being money can...
You must be joking , online transfers are becoming more susceptible to cons , at present it largely revolves around large sums , but you have little chance of getting money back when you discover someone has cooled you into transferring to the wrong account .
Cheques must not be done away...
Here is sunny Swansea we have the catenary masts in place for the depots etc as you leave the station you can view all the infrastructure , trouble is by the time they actually get the line electrified all this stuff will be in need of replacement , why spend all this money for no purpose ?
Excellent photos , I am taking the 1959 from Rome using their excelsior service , will be interested to be shunted on to the boat at the port , getting off at Tao Giardini where I hope there will be some taxis .

Just watched the video , did you take...
pleased to report the Turin train to Sicily is still running and still being shunted on to ferry .
I have booked the one from Rome for July , you can even book compartment with loo and shower from Rome , which is good because the loos get really quite bad on the sleepers , would be helped by...
