Thanks Jonathan, makes sense. Train left about an hour ago so it fits what you say. Actually I saw 60009 passing through Stevenage last weekend so it's probably the same train I saw then. My in laws can see the line from their house and are insistent it has been there for quite some time.

Hi all, Sorry for starting a new thread but I couldn't find this mentioned elsewhere. Some maroon Mk 1 coaches have been stationary on the Hertford line just outside Stevenage for a few days. Just wondered if anyone knows why they are there? thanks hertscommuter
