I believe a 455 made it to Southampton once in passenger service, a very long time ago but it happened in major disruption. Happy to be proved wrong of course, but I have a vague memory of it from when I worked at SWT

having Worldline CIS, Does not automatically translate to all your stations being on TIGER - trust me on that. ( There’s a cost involved ) For example,GWR and TfW both have Worldline CIS but not all stations are on TIGER - eg Fishguard Harbour, Pembroke Dock, Sugar Loaf to name just 3 examples.

It's fully automatic based on signalling data, eg if train goes from berth X to berth Y then it "knows" that it can no longer call at or pass stations 2, 3, 4, 5 and will instead add passing points 6, 7, 8 and 9. The passing points are added incrementally where necessary, for example if a train...

We made a change to the Worldline CIS some time back to automatically add passing points for diverted trains, which are then sent through to Darwin. Previously this train would have disappeared once it left it's booked route and just shown as "Delayed" until it re-joined the scheduled route. Now...

Did they not sometimes enforce this on longer journeys though, by making passengers return to their seat in standard? In reality wasn’t it really only ECML where this was as an option? What I’m looking forward to under GBR is standardisation of the soft product in first class on InterCity...

Personally I’d prefer a return to the InterCity model whereby a meal wasnt included in first - if you wanted one you could pay for a really high quality, restaurant style meal. In France, for example, first class on TGV services doesn’t include anything complimentary refreshment wise, yet these...

You can sign-up for alerts through Southeastern's app or website - these cover the entire GB network and not just SE. (The only thing you wont get alerts on is short-formations on the TfW network) ;-)

The majority of SE stations have now been added to TIGER, those outstanding will be added within the next week or so. This post helped get things moving ;-)

Sorry, I should have been clearer, there is internal guidance around good practice, which is all about how and when it's communicated to passengers - not that the advice itself is internal.
