Magazine Collections

Do any of you have large magazine collections and if so, have you attempted to archive these digitally? Did you use a scanner or a camera mounted device? This is something I hope to do, then hopefully obtain old back issues to scan - sadly I lost all my Rail, Model Rail and Railway modeller...
