I hope its on its way to being rectified as badly staining panels seems to be a feature of Bombardier built stock, most noticeably the Turbostars.
I traveled on a few of ScotRail’s 170s this month (however with plenty of I7C HST sets available recently I kept my Turbostars to a minimum) but...
I hadn’t actually intended to come back to this thread for this purpose but… as if by Magic, we have GBR promising new seat cushions for the 700s this week. It’s almost like they read our minds, or this thread, back in July
Now the main purpose, has the rolling out of the new bases and...
Just on that though, and to save a small bit of confusion, both 33108 and 1001 are both in temporary residents on the line and have been for part of the summer. I believe both leave for their respective homes after the gala has finished.

Another two Trident / Trident IIs down.
I’m not sure what the situation was last Christmas, however the work around for a couple of winters was a former Nightstar Mk3 Gen Van hired from Eastern Rail Services and located at Inverness. Indeed it was even painted into Midnight Teal and given Generator Car with a giant plug on the side...

Sadly the Mk5s ride quality is also...
That’s a little concerning, I can’t remember how it goes but isn’t that the loco which in turn runs the southbound highland back?
(I’m on the Southbound highlander at the moment)
It is interesting though, as I thought the initial plan was to go down the Liverpool / Manchester franchising route than outright purchasing the NXWM operation and going from there, almost akin to Lothian.
