SRD = Spinning Reserve Distribution. To manage spikes in demand National Grid have to pay for powerstations to sit there generating electricty but not putting it out to the grid so it can be switched in at short notice, "Spinning Reserve". It costs a lot of money to have a power station...

SRD is the answer to where all the power is going to come from. In the short term, anyway.
