Searching for Advances from Preston to Settle via Carlisle, Ticketsplit offers a Virgin + connections ticket on September 12 leaving Preston at 11:53 and Carlisle at 13:40. I haven't been able to find the same ticket on NRE, Virgin, TPE mixing desk or Loco2 (choosing "find slower/cheaper"...
Now I come to think about it, having passed the woman at the platform entrance at Ormskirk I vaguely noticed someone with a ticket machine on the platform who I thought might be the conductor (the train was in and Ormskirk is a Merseyrail terminus).
Paid my first ever visit to Ormskirk by Merseyrail a couple of days ago and was surprised to have my ticket checked on entrance to the platform as I can't remember the last time I've encountered a ticket check at a non-barriered Merseyrail station. Could this be anything to do with the station...
Does Northern's automatic Delay Repay system offer the option of free tickets? I've bought more 10p tickets than I'm going to use so some of them generating free tickets would be handy!
I've got 10p tickets for two connecting journeys LIV -> NLW and ERL -> LDS (on CTR -> LDS route). If I change at ERL I'll be ending short on the first ticket. I don't imagine it'll be a problem but if it is would there be any penalty beyond having to pay full fare LIV -> ERL?
If a Disabled Railcard holder is travelling from A -> C and is joined by a friend at B, can the friend travel from B -> C on a discounted B - > C ticket? T&Cs say "The accompanying adult must travel with you throughout the journey" but does that simply mean that the friend can't travel without...
Is that because you regard Woodside-Seacombe as not doing the cruise so ok on Saveaway/pass? I asked at Pier Head and was told that you have to get off at the opposite side of the river, and if I remember correctly (it's quite possible that I don't) the boarding passes say "cross-river".
