Thanks JB, as I suspected EMT haven't got this one right from both a customer, staff and safety perspective. I wonder how much is EMT and how much is DafT's franchise requirements. As usual the moneyspinners win :evil:.

I must say it looks very sad conveying a buffet car up and down the line that will never open. A backwards step in my view. EMT took away the electronic tills from the buffets so that staff had to maintain paper records of stock, meaning that the buffet was open for shorter periods. Then...

Most 153s I've been on seem to have a rat p**s smell in the luggage rack area. Anyone else or is it just me?

Derr! I thought this arguement was about safety? Thousands loose their lives every year on the roads, whilst on the the railway in 2008 there were 5 passenger and 3 workforce fatalities.

The list is out of date, a number of the MDs have now changed including East Coast, SWT, London Midland, Northern .....

The headline is mis-leading; they are not asking for more cash they are asking for greater capacity, which involves more rolling stock (DafT) and more train paths (Network Rail - also Govt owned)

That's why I want to make the most of the bits of LU where we are able to travel for free with a dated staff travel card; just don't know whether the barrier staff will recognise the staff travel card as being valid.
