Thanks guys/gals, just a pity there isnt a return HST! :) I presume the 17:30 & 18:14 departures back are formed of a 156/8 with a 153 bolted on for good measure?
Hi, was wondering......
Does anyone know if East Midland Trains are running a HST set to Skeggy this year from Nottingham? my friends & I took advantage of it in 2009 & had a great day.
Sadly the train wasnt full on either direction so im guessing they may have pulled the plug  Dont...
If thats the correct amount required for a repaint then id definately go along with your comment. I personally prefer to see a 50 in BR Blue but 'priorities' come first.
46010 is in the same predicament i believe? (battery wise) Oh i wish i could win the bloody lottery
Couldnt agree more, i know there is arguably 2 more significant galas in the form of KWVR & NNR this weekend, but the Midland Railway has such a wonderful collection of Diesels! Timetables, Rosters, Facebook & Twitter groups are so badly needed for this place as well. Still i know these guys do...
For anyone thats interested ive just looked at the MR's website & details are on there about their upcoming Diesel Gala this weekend. looks like Sunday is the day with trains every 40 mins from Butterley starting at 10am. 20048, 25321, 45041 & 47401 are advertised as being available. Dont think...
Or maybe a tad quicker than 10 minutes? Given the stop at Long Eaton, entry into Derby, reversal & back out of Derby etc, surely a 20 min saving would be had in the form of 1 Morning/evening service to benefit the Notts Brum commuters? that is course if XC could find an exclusive path & extra...
Strongly agree nd, to question the planning & effort of any preserved setup seems bizarre at best. I visited the GCRN's Diesel Gala a fortnight ago. The weather was appalling, 46010 wouldnt start due to her batteries being faulty, i paid £16 & made one trip because of the cold & no ETH & you...
Each to their own of course & i guess we are not in charge of their Steam Railway, and in particular Diesel Enthusiasts dont appear to be top of their customer priority. Only when a Deltic is in town perhaps 'ahem Riviera Rat' :)
Sorry to hijack this thread but myself & many others 30-50...
Granted, if this was a smaller Diesel Event. However with 14/15 loco's announced i can tell you that there most definately is "something interesting" running already.
Come on, it would be nice to have a surprise on the day! :) even tho i concede someone would leak the mystery guest on a forum...
Nice pictures, thanks for posting. i went today, to say it was a tad cold was a huge understatement! No Peak today :( chap on the gate said it was battery related!?
Also a nice appearance of a couple of 31's in the afternoon. Anyway a few pics from me :)
To be fair (regardless of which 37 isn't working) £5/£10 is a still a decent price for an experience that cant be bought in your local Tesco. I hope these guys make a few quid from these events. & i hope Ole Man likes a 73 instead :lol
Ha ha yes, me & my mate have been at Old Dalby all week collecting parts & other remnants from 46009 (In Time Team style dig) She's going to look lovely when finished! :)
