Hi there,
Does anyone have information about the engineering apprenticeship that Scotrail are currently advertising, such as what exactly do you do on a daily basis and the salary after your first year etc.
Thanks
So I've been debating applying for the September 2020 engineering apprenticeship and I understand that you stay at the training centre for the first 23 weeks.
What is the accommodation actually like, do you only get a bedroom with shared toilet/kitchen areas etc.
Me and my partner also have a...
I always figured that you need some electrical qualification to go straight to the Operative role, what would you recommend to get in order to stand a better chance of getting any Operative role
Thanks for the all replies, it's been a very interesting read , the major issue for me is the fact I have a 3 month and live in Scotland so currently going all the way down to england where the training centre is located is far from ideal from a money standpoint and I'll wont be able to see my...
That's really unfortunate, although I would love to do it to actually have a career I'd be happy with, it would be impossible for me to last years on a salary that low, thanks for the help anyhow
Quick question about the salary offered.

I've been applying for works delivery off track/ delivery track. I currently work in a warehouse, although my experience wont exactly be rail oriented I assume because I do alot of manual labour that it would help in some way

I've also noticed that...
My guess is that they’ve already done interviews, the problem is that you’ll never really know as Abellio never update your application status to unsuccessful, I’ve still got applications from last year that apparently are “under consideration”.
Don’t take my word for it about the interviews...
You say Bathgate drivers only do Edinburgh-Helensburgh, is that actually true as there at least a couple very early Airdrie-Balloch services that come from Bathgate and later on at night around 7/8ish there are Balloch-Airdrie services that terminate at airdrie but then immediately go straight...
