I was hoping to commute from Oxenholme to Liverpool. These would have been ideal. As it is then it’s an Avanti to Preston or Wigan and then a stopper into Liverpool. The 1612 North bound looks like an ok option though.

engine fire at Crewe this morning whilst about to depart on the 0810 to Carmarthen. Significant smoke spotted as it was about to depart, engine rapidly shut down & extinguisher applied. All passengers off and train cancelled.
