They might be being processed but, as another poster mentioned above, I've been requested to post the physical tickets back to Avanti (said it must be recorded delivery, the cheeky b*****ds!), before they will release the refund. Given I am in self-isolation for 12 weeks, a trip to the Post...
It does worry me when I read of these services that possibly have standing passengers at the time of an emergency breaking situation. The risks of injury are too terrible to consider, if people are standing, unsupported by anything, and the train suddenly lurches to a halt, especially if the...
With yet another line closure today, after a fatality, that's 3 days (out of the past 4 weekdays) where the trains have been stopped, ticket acceptance was in place and WCML will have to pay of huge sums in the repayment scheme. It feels like they're currently operating a 'free' service, given...
So sad, again, but it makes me slightly nervous even trying trips to and from London in the next couple of weeks - it just seems to be a near daily occurrence, and my fear is this is a situation getting worse, not better - despite today's incident being dealt with timely efficiently (compared to...
Does anyone know if I'm entitled to a refund, given my booked train was cancelled AND the alternative route I'm taking will mean I get to my destination over 2.5 hours late? On the website, all I can see are the Delay Repay options, which seems to apply to delayed trains, rather than cancelled ones.
That's so sad. I took the advice and legged it to KX. Am now on a train ready to depart to Leeds! I should be able to pick up a Preston train from there (hopefully!!).
Can anyone suggest any actual trains? The idea of going to B'ham is fine, except I'd be picking up Virgin WC and all of those trains are delayed/cancelled out of Euston anyway, so there's no guarantee I'd be able to get one.
I'm at Euston now - Virgin 1st class lounge is packed to the gills! They are doing ticket acceptance on all other operators' trains, but it's really no good for me, as getting to Preston will involve some fairly horrific transfers and delays anyway! The National Rail website seems to think...
Whilst it's 'academic' seeing as it's bus replacement services from now until March, and there aren't reservable services, it's worth noting that there has been nothing short of complete chaos with the bus schedules so far, since they started the buses between BPN and PRE. They timetabled a 65...
Re the new Virgin WC timetable, can someone tell me exactly what date in December the new one takes effect? All I can see is 'to Dec' on the old one and 'from Dec' on the new one.
I've been looking for Virgin West Coast Advance tickets, to book for 28th Dec between Preston and Euston, and there are absolutely no advance tickets, for any trains on that date (I've been looking every single morning, every day for 3 weeks, just in case the normal 12 week advance was changed...
Does anyone know if there'll be trains on the WCML, perhaps terminating near London - close enough, perhaps Watford Junction, to picking up one of the local trains, like those that run through to Clapham? I have tickets for Hamilton (damn it!!) during that close down, and this is going to kill...
