There is some absolutely stunning drone footage coming out of this build, it's amazing to see it developing week-by-week. Having grown up in the vicinity of the Bromford Tunnel portal, if this project was started 25 years ago, I'd wager my career would have been a hell of a lot different...

I live in Bromsgrove, and that station is nowhere near the town... infact shockingly so. I'd not want to end up stranded there that's for sure.

A lot of talk here is about demand from Shrewsbury, but the train starts at Wrexham, where unlike before, there is much more demand now. Kelloggs is a huge employer and did use the previous iteration fairly regularly, and now DWP have a big presence in the city, so potential civil servant trips...

A nine car train with only four in use.... I miss the pre-XC days of a 7 or 8 car HST running all the way down to Penzance, a much nicer way to travel.

So, and please excuse my ignorance here. Why is it cheaper to buy returns to Birmingham and then returns to Wrexham? There appears to be absolutely no logic in this at all? I'd go so far as to say, its getting close to a criminal act that I shan't mention at this point.

Hi @Watershed So you are suggesting that TfW would view my travel being (and billed) as if I went south from Bromsgrove, changed at Hereford and then changed at Shrewsbury to give the fare that they are offering to get to Wrexham?

I was never offered the option by TfW, they just sent the vouchers by way of closing my complaint!! Edit: I did complain about the vouchers being unacceptable, but was told to go to the Ombudsman if I wasn't happy. I've seen that TfW don't accept complaints lightly, so my previous appalling...
