That doesn't serve the whole of Whitburn.
But I imagine the market Ember are looking at here are people who are driving. It's one thing to get them to try a coach instead of driving, another to ask them to catch a half hourly bus service to get to the coach.
The end game is taking market share by providing a competitive product. No amendment fees, responsive website across devices, easy to see how busy a service is, and full refunds make Ember more competitive at the moment, Citylink advertised journey times are a little quicker.
I wonder about...
I read that as prohibiting a roundabout route via Glasgow and Dumfries. Maybe. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me either.
I think so. I can get anytime single fares via Glasgow Central for the same price as via Haymarket.
However, I hadn't noticed the difference in price between the season...
Thanks both. Aware of the NRCoT and hadn't considered the earlier Avanti which does call at LOC. The connections from Livingston make that very tight which is why I had my eye on the 0800. I could do it if I went instead from Livingston South but it still only gives an 8 minute connection at...
I intend to purchase a Livingston North (LSN) to Lockerbie (LOC) weekly season and combine this with a 7 day Freedom of the North West Rover. I will be starting and finishing from LSN each day.
The North West Rover is valid from 0900 M-F and there is a dispensation from Lockerbie to Carlisle...
Thanks for this. Looks like it has to be exchanged for a pass on the Citylink website by 31st August and then you have 12 months to use it. Start date is set when you make a reservation or scan the QR code on a bus.
Understood. But my comment was about the additional 24 mins because of diverting through Winchburgh. The only First service I know of going through Winchburgh from Livingston was the 600 and would have had similar journey times. The X25 takes a substantially different route to the X19.
I'm not...
Did it operate the same route? I thought it started at the airport. The X17 ran from Edinburgh and gave connections on the A8 direct to Livingston. It appeals to folks in the north of Livingston who don't want to endure the X27/28.
With Ember it's even easier to change it yourself. The ticket link has a mobile friendly change page and can be amended up until a few minutes ahead. Important if it's a stop that needs to be pre-booked.
This link brings up the new 72, but it looks as if the existing Winchburgh runs are in there too. Maybe need to wait a while longer for them to fully sort themselves out.
I suspect if they do anything they'll just divert the X18 in there.
The 700 residents should have used the ones they've had before then. It's a change of bus or a few minutes walk to the 31 and soon the X19 too. Many people in Livingston have a longer walk to a bus stop.
If I needed one there is no way I would trust the app. My smartcard works fine and if there is a season on it I can use it for 1/3 off off peak fares too on Scotrail.

Both the new app and website are showing refunds available for same day ticket purchases and have been throughout.
