Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Looks like 810018 on this working may have had issues when switching over to diesel mode. Modelling of the subsequent very sluggish acceleration through the signal berths after Loughborough suggests the set was operating with only around 50% of the normal diesel traction power. (interestingly...

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

From remote monitoring, 810018 seemed to be accelerating on normal full unrestricted power from all four engines when pulling away northbound from Loughborough (the station call before the incident).

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

810022 (with modifications to improve door reliability) was in good form from a traction point of view on it's first day of operation in public service yesterday, accelerating in diesel mode northbound after Loughborough with run times between signals LR511 and NE4481 (min : sec) similar to...

Also out, I believe for the first time on the MML, is 012 on the Etches Park driver training diagram. Also 09 swopping to 08 in the early afternoon on the Kettering driver training diagram.

Perhaps as a prelude to today's (Wednesday) service entry, 810010 took over Tuesday's afternoon leg of the Etches Park driver training run from 810008. Allocated to the training run today is 810006, the other set reported earlier to be ready for entry to passenger service.

There is an Old Dalby-Leicester-Sheffield and return test working running from Old Dalby this morning. Is it known whether 810004 is back from Newton Aycliffe and this is another paired working of 03 and 04 together, or just 03 on its own?

Interesting - May indicate that the next set of driver training diagrams is going to start this week: 3A15 10:05 Kettering stabling sidings-Kentish Town 3A16 11:50 Kentish Town-Derby 3A17 14:19 Derby-Cricklewood sidings 3A18 20:22 Cricklewood sidings-Kettering stabling sidings

03 and 04 are the Old Dalby test sets, so would have thought it more likely to be 08 and 09 on Etches Park driver training runs that they will take over from. Possible problems today with 06 as it made it no further south than Wigston on this afternoon's 3A27 Derby-St Pancras working 06...

Thanks - will be 03 and 04 working together in multiple.

5Q40-43 Old Dalby -Sheffield and return via Leicester ran today (Tuesday). Does anyone know whether it was 03 solo again? Thanks.

Is it known whether this was a single set or 03 and 04 working in multiple as on the last mainline outing on 8th September? Also whether on diesel or electric power under the wires of the southern MML? Thanks.

Thanks for the listing. Had not noticed 03 returning to Newton Aycliffe on RTT. Presumably there for some fault rectification issue and is why there has been no further mainline testing of 810s working in multiple from Old Dalby since the first run of 03 and 04 together on 8th September.

Yes, apparently no training runs from Etches Park last week but the runs with 08 and 09 this week have included for the first time a morning working to Wellingborough and back as well as the previous afternoon run to St Pancras.

Or indeed the rumoured first mainline test of the 810s working in multiple (possibly 03 and 04)?

Thanks. If you have seen it, do you know if it was under the wires on diesel power as southbound after Kettering on 5Q61 the acceleration seemed no better than that of Meridians.
