    Bookmarking in a long thread

I think my problem is that I am attempting to read numerous threads at the same time. Perhaps making a note in my mobile phone of the last post read in each thread would be the best solution, providing I remember to update it at the end of every reading session.

    Bookmarking in a long thread

Is there any way to bookmark where you have read up to on a long thread on this forum? I am currently reading a number of long threads with several hundred posts in each thread. I find it difficult to remember the last posts in each discussion I read, and find myself re-reading posts until I...

    Manchester stations

General spotting session. I normally go lineside near home, just thought it was an opportunity to try something a bit different. Thanks for the advice.

    Manchester stations

I've got a few hours to spare in Manchester later this week. I usually confine my spotting to rural lineside locations, but thought this may be a chance to try a city station. Are any of the Manchester stations accessible to spotters? If so do I need to sign in at the station office? Would I...

    Recording sightings

Thanks all, I discarded all of my previous sightings in the (misguided) belief I was getting it 'wrong' and have come close to not bothering again. Due to personal circumstances I will not be able to go out until Tuesday of next week. I have started this thread to try and get a clear idea of...

    Recording sightings

I started this thread a while ago; http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=120294 Since then I have been recording my sightings with the following level of detail; Date, Time, Location, Loco/Unit Number. I have been told by an enthusiast I encountered that I should really be...

    New era - Red Pen?

Cheers Trainlogger. I have an account with you and have decided to use this in conjunction with books / red pen as well as a simple Excel spreadsheet. I do not have the time to manually record the level of detail most people go into. Therefore your site is ideal for my requirements. Thank you...

    New era - Red Pen?

Thanks for the help everyone. I have started to record my sightings. In three days I had seen 9 of the 10 TP 350's. However 350404 and I are playing a game of hide and seek already!

    New era - Red Pen?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and the encouragement. I was hesitant before posting in case I got flamed. I will be ordering the NREA book tomorrow. Just can't wait to get started. Cheers

    New era - Red Pen?

Thanks for the replies. Sorry for the delay in returning to the thread (I am on nights). I mean no disrespect to the people behind the trainlogger website (I have created an account). My worry is if it goes offline for whatever reason all of my records would be lost. Thanks for the tip of the...

    New era - Red Pen?

Cheers bb21. So underline in red for haulage and black for sightings. I've seen somewhere that people transfer stuff each year. Any help on this would really be appreciated. If anyone would be kind enough to expand on this or even pm me a picture of a used page I would truly appreciate it. I...

    New era - Red Pen?

My only previous railway experience has been as a railway photographer (who didn't record what I saw), and as the geeky kid my older cousin was obliged to take on trains (he was a basher). I've now got to the stage where I want to get involved. I recently purchased a Blackberry to post sightings...

    The Great British Bash Off

Who would host the show? We would need a male and female judge both experts in bashing, plus two female 'celebrity' hosts.
