Possibly, but I would've thought that the route should be regarded as a TENS route of strategic importance, i.e. linking two parts of the UK together, rather than just local services, which might open up the possibility of EU funding.

I just wonder why there appears to be an absence of any effort to reopen the line to Cairnryan to tie in with the new ports, as part of a redevelopment of the Stranraer services.

My bad! Wrong term... It does seem a bit of a constitutional oddity. But then again we've never really had a proper look at our constitution. Maybe after 2014 the Scots will be more like the IoM??? ;) Not particularly, as at the time there was no prospect of devolved government...

Err, no... they are Crown Colonies. Northern Ireland is constitutionally more like Scotland or Wales.

Ironic given the make-up of Spain and the similarities in the constitutional arrangements!! It's a great video. Quite a few lot of people in all parts of the UK could do with watching it!! ;) Some generalities in it but the concept is very good.
