    Section 22 Permits and D1

I would say you have got it about right. In your scenario 1 - yes, drivers can be paid. In your scenario 2 - yes, if you passed your car test after 1997 you don’t get any minibus entitlement under D1 but your car licence allows you to drive minibuses on a voluntary basis for social purposes by a...

Help - Renewing PSV 15 Yr Medical

You need to complete a D2 which you can’t download and have to order from the Government website - normally comes within a week. I would of said order the D2/D4 pack but you are saying you have done your medical (D4) and sent it away? I would have thought DVLA will be in touch if you have sent...

Possible D licence revocation due to high blood pressure

Section 22 - prior to 2008 only volunteers could drive Section 22 minibuses ( community buses) but this was amended by the Local Transport Act 2008, Section 59, to allow paid drivers. Hope this helps (This assumes that DVLA leave you with at least D1 - not for hire or reward. Good luck with it...

Possible D licence revocation due to high blood pressure

What sort of permit / operators licence is on your minibus? You can be paid for driving a minibus under a Section 19 permit.

Possible D licence revocation due to high blood pressure

In my opinion, if you lose your D entitlement you will revert to having your B car entitlement and D1 (minibus) but that will be a restricted D1 as in “not for hire or reward”. You will not be able to drive a minibus for a commercial operator operating under a full operators licence. You might...

    Sat Nav Doomsday

I am pleased to report that an update was provided and my unit continues to work normally. I was out of the country on the day but checking news reports on my return, it appears that nothing happened to cause a problem! I saw reports of grounded aircraft that proved to be false. We do seem to...

    Sat Nav Doomsday

I have a Tom Tom Pro 5150 and got an email from TomTom encouraging me to use their site to check if my unit would be affected. It is. I am now waiting to see if they can provide an update or whether I will need to upgrade. I bought it in 2015 so will be disappointed if I have to upgrade so soon...

    Cumbrian Coast Loco Hauled Stock

Had a great run down the coast on the 1156 Carlisle - Lancaster today until we ground to a sharp halt about a mile out of Lancaster and blocking the WCML. Limped into Lancaster at 20mph arriving 28 late. 37402 - air problem we were told.

I see the nb 0537 from Barrow has broken down ( again) this morning. This is the 37 hauled service that should form the 0842 Carlisle - Barrow. Looks like the 0537 has been terminated at Sellafield. Oh dear! Roll on Monday and the arrival of the 68 hauled set - local travellers will be pleased!

    Cumbrian Coast Loco Hauled Stock

Yes, 37558 and 37402 today. Went down to Preston for the 1003 to Barrow behind 558 and then 402 for the Barrow - Carlisle leg. The views were brilliant today, very cold outside but crystal clear. One of my favourite train journeys ( accompanied by a bottle or two of Lancaster Blonde and Ghost...
