A New Series of "Fare Dodgers At War With the Law..."

That's what I've heard yes, but clearly something is being missed since in the mini snippet I've seen (unfortunately abroad ATM and can't watch) from the show showed someone using their uncles card which had no money on it and had racked up a debt of 2k. I do vaguely remember asking a similar in...

A New Series of "Fare Dodgers At War With the Law..."

Given they have no powers of detention I'm under the impression they could say they're going for the police option but you can just walk off before the police came as long as you've given your name and address (unless the Police were literally right there)

A New Series of "Fare Dodgers At War With the Law..."

I'm still not 100% clear on the date of birth situation, it seems some are saying you never need to give it and some say it depends on the specific policies of the company involved/type of offence suspected? (Apologies if I'm misunderstanding)

    Tfl letter

Tfl don't tend to offer out of court settlements. It's true you may have seen other cases on this forum but they won't have been Tfl.

    Tfl letter

People will be able to answer you as above, but it's unlikely to make a difference to the outcome. It seems an odd question to ask, is this coming from ChatGPT or similar? What people really need to be able to help you is more details of what you were doing, and we've seen it all before on here...

Staff being difficult over attempts to break journey

I regularly used tickets where I'm ending early/breaking jounrey. I've never ended up arguing with anyone, but most of the time the barriers don't accept the ticket (paper ticket) and show a code 125 or 126 so you do need to have a chat.

Signalling problems on UP slow line into Waterloo

To be fair, UP slow was my usage it wasn't in the announcement. So from what I'm hearing there's no real recurring specific issue it's just something in the standard practice toolbox when things aren't going right?

Signalling problems on UP slow line into Waterloo

Several times over the last few months (at least 5 times that I can count, all at off-peak times - peak seems fine, although presumably there are more) there have been signalling problems (or at least that's what the announcements say) on the UP slow into Waterloo. This has meant trains were...

Mile End to Shalford via Clapham Junction

No, the pink reader doesn't start or end a journey. It just informs the system you've avoided zone 1 for oyster fare calculation. Edit: Watersheds post indicates I may be wrong(!), however this isn't the intended use of them

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

I'm currently getting an issue when using my phone (I'm out so can't check on my laptop) where it's not letting me add a two together Railcard despite having 2 adults.

Is exceeding the maximum amount of time in the TfL zones counted as fare evasion?

A long time ago (10 years) when I travelled from Wandsworth Road to Romford via Overground/Jubilee/Greater Anglia line I got stopped for "acting suspiciously" at Romford and they scanned my oyster and that added to the problems since they thought it was suspicious that I last tapped into Zone 2...

Earlsfield to Fareham - Super Off Peak Validity

ok fantastic that's really helpful thanks for all your help, I find all the routing stuff quite interesting so I will try and educate myself on it all!

Earlsfield to Fareham - Super Off Peak Validity

Haywain. The reason given to me I'm sure correctly by jfollows was that the Earsfield to Fareham ticket was not valid via Eastleigh because in the routeing guide this route is only valid on routes PU and PD which doesn't include Eastleigh. My point is that if I look up Surbiton to Portsmouth...

Earlsfield to Fareham - Super Off Peak Validity

Thanks all, I will look through the routing documentation when I get a chance. I think even if Kite159 is correct about most people not caring I will try and avoid going via Clapham as I don't think it's in the spirit of the ticket being sold. However I will probably continue going via Eastleigh...
