    No they don’t. engine shut down at Savernake. tried coasting to Hungerford loop but enough air leaked off to then cause a emergency brake application.

    I don’t sign the route you are on about but have been a driver since 1991. The correct way to drive is how you describe in the second part using the gradient’s to control the speed of your train. I used to sign 400s also 375s but now drive 59s and 66s.

    I remember travelling on them when I was young when I lived near Margate. i just wish a refurbished unit would be produced as I used to drive them when I worked on Southeastern based at Faversham.
