The map they provide is a litte confusing. I presume it is not intended to be accurate because it looks like the Liverpool train is going down the WCML and the Hams Hall down the Settle & Carlisle line which with containers is not possible.

I am unsure whether it is fully crewed but Barrow in Furness, which already has limited night time passenger trains, runs an ECS at 04:25 5C99 to Lancaster. I have often wondered why it doesn’t take passengers.

Thank you for your corrections. The Atlantic Coast Express was simply an oversight, with GWR having so many named trains I had simply missed adding it. The Mayflower however I had missed the Newquay connection completely so much I much appreciate the correction.

I can’t say I have done extensive research on the subject, but I have to say each time I have gone down to the line the Avanti trains have been on time, and likewise when checking on RTT.

i think it was just the way I worded it. I was trying to explain that with passengers trains these are, within reason, guaranteed to run. It is not the same with freight timetables with many of the paths timetabled never used or used so intermittently you never know from one day to the next...
