Also can someone please tell LNER that their reservation system is useless. For a few weeks when I reserve a seat (because I can't buy a ticket without doing so) My seat isn't reserved. In fact as the picture shows it is 'Available'. The @LNER, TM and customer services guys don't care - all I...
Bought a ticket today for a LNER service and couldn't purchase without making a reservation and the ticket said on it Mandatory Reservation
So can anyone tell what's going on with LNER?
I have complained to LNER but not had a reply, on my last two journeys I have purchased a ticket with reservation only to find that someone was sat in my seat. Apparently they moved because someone was in their seat.
What I just don't understand is that IF all LNER journeys are reservation only...
I must admit I don't like the new layout. I much preferred RH when it was landscape for viewing on a pc or ipad, portrait only works for printed material.
Also I think that whilst its not a bad price for subscription, I would rather prefer to stick with the Rail Express that I currently view...
I thought that the catering in first class was very poor on a sunday when i travelled recently. What was even more annoying was the fact that they claim to have run out of "free" things yet can still sell them from the buffet counter.

An excellent tour with first class stewards (well some of them) :D, a first rate promotor, a beast of a loco, proper coaching stock and an excellent group with which to travel. Couldn't have wished for better company.
We were always sat under the signal gantry at the south end....happy days.
I'll have to dig out some of my old photo's, you might be on one of them:lol:
If you used to spend all your time at York, then our paths must have crossed several times, I was always at York every Saturday. There was a large group of us at that time always went on platform 14.
Does anyone know about the new security regulations in Austria regarding
taking pictures on railway stations.
Apparently the security threat has reached OBB, and a permit has to be obtained.
I have tried to get more details from them, but nothing as yet.
When I was in Barcelona last year, there was a man on one of the stations telling everyone with a camera, even tourists, that no photography was
allowed.
Well done to Yorkie, well deserved, his articles are always well written and interesting.:D:D.
Also well done to my good friend Dave Dawson, another well deserved win
