    Id imagine if they take you on as an employee they would sponsor you and pay for the Pts etc. Although that's just a guess. Good luck buddy, hope it all works out.

    There's a company called cleartrak who do quite a lot of work on the rail, they have an office in Milton Keynes (I think), I'd give them a ring and see if they have any vacancies!

    No idea of specific companies in that area to be honest, probably worth googling and ringing around. My friend used to do some work for Lineside, but they're based in Nottingham I believe.

    Hi Jamie, whereabouts do you live? Reason I ask is there are a lot of de-vegetation contractors in need of operatives and willing to put employees through relevant training, may not be what you want to do long term but might just get your foot in the door Pts-wise

    Does anybody have an idea of the sort of shift patterns you'd be on as an overhead line operative with Network Rail? I'm assuming mostly nights, but are there many days?
