I want to go to Edinburgh and then on to Glasgow on the same day. If I get an Advance single from Kings Cross to Glasgow via Edinburgh on say the 9.03 from Kings Cross do I have to catch the 13.48 from Edinburgh or can I exit the station and catch a train an hour or two later from Edinburgh?

Yes but on the Uckfield Line they can just remove carriages from the existing services. So rather than cutting a whole train (after all there are only 3 peak hour services) they could reduce each of them to 3 or 5 carriages, rather than running 2 as 8 and one as 6.

I have heard a rumour there is to be an unusual train on the Uckfield Line tomorrow (30th December) possibly in the afternoon. THe suggestion was it is runningthe 15:07 LBG to UCK service. Anyone know anything?

i haven’t been on the train this week but Thursday and Friday the train I was on that was terminating at Crowborough came in to the up platform. A train has been spotted at Uckfield this afternoon so maybe they are testing something. The timetable still says they are all cancelled

There has been an intermittent issue with the signals between Crowborough and Uckfield for some time. The latest issues occurred on Thursday around lunchtime and there was no service south of Crowborough for the rest of the day. On Friday the day started with a full service however again...
