    Cambrian Line ETCS Transition

Does anyone know about the ETCS transition performance on Cambrian Line so far? Such as the GSM-R network registration and radio connection with RBC always successful on first attempt? Has it been an incident which the driver requires to stop due to unsuccessful connection?

    ETCS Braking Curve

ETCS has ATP element, if it is designed to intervene early, ATO will still have to brake early. So far there is no ATO on any mainline, some of the concerns is that there are different type of trains and different delays scenario.

    ETCS Braking Curve

I think Central Line scenario may be different to Cambrian Line. Cambrian Line is higher in speed and I suspect the braking distance has been reduced to cater for more train services.

    ETCS Braking Curve

Is that mean that the driver has to decelerate more that used to be? Does the speedometer deceleration guide helps in anyway?

What would be needed to upgrade the WCML from 125mph to 140mph

Cab signalling is required for speed above 125mph. Track side signal visibility will be poor and not safe for speed above 125mph. The current cab signalling under European Directive is ERTMS-ETCS.

    HS2 Detailed plans and route

I agreed with Metroland that most of the commentators here should read the Command Document produced by HS2 Ltd, it shows you that HS2 Ltd has had considered many factors from cost to the choice of route/station. It also detailed the reasons why each decision was made.

    Cambrian ERTMS delay

To my knowledge, the Cambrian line was chosen as the line is self-contain, RETB is due for renewal, this line can simulate 70% of UK operational scenarios, allowed NR,RSSB to develop procedures, standards, regulations for future ERTMS migration or implementation. Single supplier was chosen as...
