I think the answer to the original question is that most of the passengers who travel through the station during the week dont go that way on a Sunday.
For a person that comes from Bolton you seem to know a lot about the Edge Hill area. The area is not actually run down it is surrounded by small industrial units, a shopping centre and two modern housing estates. It is also the closest railway station to Wavertree Lnnovation Park for services...
4422 is in service at Boole still with its J200ABW registration plates.
It will probably be withdrawn from service after 6 September when St Helens depot is franchised and its Enviro 400s move to other depots.
The 61 Bootle to Aigburth has run as time immemorial whereas the 61 Runcorn to Liverpool was introduced by Halton Transport as an extension of the Crosville route J61.
I would have thought that the former Liverpool Corpora0tion which runs wholly within LCR would take preference.
A lot of students use the station during term time to access the university which is about a 10 minute walk. Nothing happens in the surronding area on a Sunday.
Totally agree Alistair. As I have to go by train and alight and then board a different service Salwick poses a problem for me with its peak hour only service. Still there are still plenty in Greater Manchester to keep me going I am not too concerned.
