when fnw ran the 01.50 holyhead to birmingham service the line was closed between chester & crewe so we were diverted via warrington & manchester piccadilly taking just under 80 minutes & being teminated at wolverhampton.

on the ellesmere port bound platform at ince & elton there is a sign that says trains from this platform to hooton & chester, change at hooton for trains to liverpool. trains havent gone past ellesmere port since merseyrail was extended in 1994.
