"Mini Switzerland" trial - a good use of £12m?

I agree with your thoughts in all fairness but its far to early to judge something that hasn't got off the ground yet I live in Chesterfield and dont drive so I am used to the bus but under the current plans I see nothing to reduce car journeys. Its OK running everything down the Hope Valley...

    Stagecoach Yorkshire and Chesterfield

There are two displays in Chesterfield Town Centre that display bus info, they have even updated the old map round the back of the Portland that no one will ever look at :) So, all is moving in a positive way However, my gripe with both displays in Chesterfield is that they just display the bus...

How excellent is it that the electronic bus departure board in Bakewell not only displays all the buses that depart from there but it also displays all the train departures from Chesterfield Railway Station that connect to the 170. Well impressed! There should be alot more integrated info like this

    Wellglade Group

I was at a bus stop in Staveley, Derbyshire today miles away from where any bus related to Wellglade would serve nowadays. However to my surprise a Trentbarton van pulled up and bloke got out to change the timetables at the bus stop and then proceeded to do so at every stop down the road. Have...

    Stagecoach Yorkshire and Chesterfield

Its been really good to see how successful the Peak Sightseer has become again this year. However walking past Chesterfield Train Station this morning, I couldnt believe how many got off the train and got straight on to the Sightseer. I know we have had all sorts of special trains in...

As an existing bus user before and after the £2 cap I totally agree

    Stagecoach Yorkshire and Chesterfield

This viewpoint is purely representing my own experience and views from a couple of other people I know but its made little difference. I dont own a car so I use the buses for getting out in the peaks most weeks, this usually involves more than one bus company so I rarely used the Hulleys only...

    Stagecoach Yorkshire and Chesterfield

@mk1979 I dont think this has anything to do with Stagecoach but I am not sure who to direct this comment to so could you please feedback to whomever. Last Thursday there was a new electric Stagecoach bus displayed in the Market Place in Chesterfield Town Centre with staff promoting and taking...

    Stagecoach Yorkshire and Chesterfield

Easter Holidays and weather couldnt have timed more perfect! X17 has been very well loaded all week from Chesterfield towards Matlock. I've not observed the 170 today but there also wasnt a spare seat on the double deckers from mid morning to early afternoon yesterday. 1744490087 The problem...

It appears to leave Morton without a bus service, looking at the link the rest of the route seems pretty much as it was between Chesterfield -Alfreton. The timetable looks to be very tight aswell, traffic often backs up on the approach to Alfreton.

I am not in the bus trade at all but when you look at the current state of things today, Spital, Hady, Holymoorside, Wingerworth, Pilsley, Stonebroom and Morton all remain without a bus service at present because they were on a commercial route. When does it come to the point Derbyshire Council...

Hope someone does step in to take on the 55, it might go a long way around but its surprisingly quite well used between Tibshelf - Alfreton and Clay Cross in the opposite direction. There was a 95, 96, 97 and 98 95 - Chesterfield - Wingerworth 96 - Chesterfield - Alfreton via Hasland, Temple...
