In my experience its rarely used to excuse behaviour, but is used to explain behaviour. Completely different.
Though I've always been confused over what the average person views as a mental health issue. Logically, I don't see how pretty much any behaviour cant be classified as a mental...
Then that's gross negligence on their part. If the "special needs" require the children to be in seats or they face significant discomfort then they should have ensured seats would be available instead of assuming. It doesn't matter if they are inexperienced with train travel, and surely this...
Though of course, unless they actually say something you have no way of actually knowing what they are thinking! I'm not saying you're making it up - but you could just be jumping to conclusions. Someone I know is constantly thinking anyone who so much as glances at them or dares to speak to...
While I'd (hopefully) figure that out when I see there is no way to open it from the inside, it would perplex me for a bit as well. The last time I was on a train that had a door like that I must have been about 8 years old!
I really can't say I find the system in this country any more confusing than other countries.
1) What's confusing about it? It's certainly preferable to many countries where you must buy a ticket for 1 train, whereas here you can buy a ticket that will let you get on dozens throughout the...
Presumably because they're awful forms of ID. It's easy for anyone to get ISIC cards without being a student (I've had 2 and haven't had to prove I'm a student once) - especially as you put your own photo in. And NUS Extra cards aren't much more secure - they don't seem to check that you...
I don't understand how that is possibly a problem? Even if you're saying there are people who don't know you can hover over it to find the restrictions, you can just click on it and it automatically highlights all the trains you can use it on underneath.
Seems a bit pointless - why bother having a code at all if that's the case? Just slide (or tap if it's wireless) the payment card into the machine.
I also doubt NFC in phones is going to catch on anytime soon - people have been saying it will for years!
Thanks, I responded with the exact trains I used and said which of the trains were delayed (the Southern one) so hopefully that will get it sorted. I was just a bit put off by the fact they seem to be trying to palm it off onto SouthEastern and South West Trains!
I'll let you know how it goes.
A few weeks ago I was delayed by just over 1 hour by Southern Trains, but they rejected my Delay Repay request saying "wrong train company".
The journey started with SouthEastern and ended with Southern - but the delay was wholly with Southern Railway. Should I therefore be able to claim...
