This Q may have already been answered .. Why is the journey into (from Eastbourne) and out again (towards Brighton) from Lewes so slow? Obviously a speed restriction for some reason or other?

Be a great shame if buffet cars were removed. Visiting the buffet car on a longer journey is part of the train experience I think. Went from Leeds to Kings Cross recently on a borrowed EMT HST .. visited the buffet to be greeted with a proper chrome-piped drinks system dispensing HOT water...

I for one will be very annoyed if Virgin lose the West Coast. Every single journey I have had with them has been seemless and even bagged myself some crazy priced advance fares (£10.50 each way from Tunbridge Wells to Liverpool .. even leaving in the rush hour when the fare to London alone is...
