If that is the case we need to be making a public fuss about this to politicians etc and get them to kick up a stink about it. I imagine Sir Lindsay Hoyle for one is very keen to see this finally opened as soon as possible.
Noticed this on http://mario.lancashire.gov.uk/roadworks/bulletin.aspx?district=Chorley
Without going back up thread I am not sure if this has been mentioned?

No pictures I am afraid as I was driving but spotted two teams of Orangemen just north of Horwich Parkway at 15.30 yesterday.
One group doing something with a mast /base on the Up line and the second on a scissor platform tinkering with wires a bit closer to the M61 bridge.
Station tannoy announcements were a problem when Buckshaw Parkway opened too. Its as if when they install them they just turn them up to 10 and don't test them and turn them down to a reasonable level.
On the local facebook pages there are various reasons reported, one of them being (allegedly from a Twitter interaction with Northern) that the building was flooded and damage has been caused to the TVM and the ticket office. That would account for Northern's "essential repairs".
Apologies if this is in the wrong place, but please can someone explain why Northern have 1C59 2200 Manchester Airport to Barrow-in-Furness not stopping at Preston this week?
RTT has it stopping as normal but Northern have it missing.
Piling works overnight at Buckshaw. Presumably for the platforms as either ends have been done. Much local moaning on social media as no warnings were given.
You should have read the message boards/facebook for Buckshaw when the piling equipment was here at Christmas. Trying to explain to people that Christmas the only time this could have be done because of the tie in to the WCML was like banging heads against walls. Some said it should be done...
Ok thanks. I haven't read that thread as I only really bother with threads about the area I live/travel in.
As Chorley's platforms have been rebuilt within the last year, I was surprised they never did all the work then and added masts as part of that work.
The usual lack of joined up...
Is there any reason the stations are being left til later on this?
Also Lancashire Evening Post and BBC Radio Lancashire making a big fuss about folks in Preston being kept awake by the piling. NR haven't been very proactive in their PR about the works again, just for a change.
Probably because as you say Len, we are bigger
It could also have something to do with the fact that there is an fair bit of work to be done on the lines right next to Buckshaw, whereas once past Euxton Junction.......
The amount of complaints NR got from Buckshaw residents around...
