Alas not that odd – a few different services around the country that changed yesterday have the same problem. I think they needed to remember to tick something in Ticketer portal to include the new routes in the SIRI-VM (Service Interface for Real Time Information – Vehicle Monitoring) feed.

Good news (for those who think the current app and/or website are worse than the previous ones) – they're returning, according to a press release from Passenger (the previous, 2017–24, supplier)...

They hadn't done a bat survey, the occupants of the new houses would be reliant on private vehicles, and other things: https://publicaccess.braintree.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=TDMLIHBFHE100

Not deliberate. In the national coach services data they have an "EndDate" of 27 April – an error than anything deeper

I'm sorry to hear that, how strange. Would it be possible to share a screenshot of this happening?

This reminds me that in 2021 they were down for 4 Arrival buses (not coaches). The funding got spent on some of the Yutong coaches instead, but what was the original plan it had gone ahead and Arrival hadn't gone bust?

It slightly contradicts this quote from a news article from 2024 – Vectare launches 'Bigger Business, Better Buses' strategy – (before the change of name to Transport Made Simple): (They would perhaps argue that First and Essex County Council are engaging in competition here and not the other...

Both! Besides every stop having a unique code, many clusters of 2+ stops also have a unique StopAreaCode. For example, Yate Shopping Centre is 017G0001, Billingford Post Office is 290G1225. Most bus stations have one, but whether smaller stop-pairs have one seems to depend on the whims of the...

Here's the list from the bustimes.org database:

TIL (today I learnt) the Alcolock devices were adopted in 2010, after an accident in 2007 where the driver was over the limit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_M1_motorway_coach_accident Apparently they're more commonplace in some other countries, but yes, other operators in the UK cope...

That does indeed seem to have caused it, but they're tracking again today.

According to this document [Enhanced_Partnership_Plan_and_Scheme_Dec_2024.pdf] it's part of Norfolk County Council's BSIP (bus service improvement plan):

Not quite, National Express seem to have started (since early April) filtering which services are included in their Bus Open Data AVL (automatic vehicle location) feed, to only include (more or less) ones that are registered as local bus services and therefore in scope of the legislation. Not...

Those services have disappeared from the Traveline National Dataset (and https://www.traveline.info/) – this can happen sometimes, as does the opposite problem of cancelled services sticking around. Fortunately there are other sources of data such as the Bus Open Data Service, so they're back on...
