    Northern Pacer Withdrawals - Info?

They all had the destination box in black with a yellow rim, from new, up until they recieved FNW/NS/ATN livery; Wales & Borders, and subsequently Arriva Train Wales, were the only operators post privatisation to retain the original style

    Northern Pacer Withdrawals - Info?

Aye literally all they need to do is strip the FGW paint off the interior panelling, revealing the original beige, orange and 'caramel' colours (ceiling panels/window surrounds, end bulkheads, and lower wall panels, respectively)

I think you're thinking of 142081 ;) when it was transferred to Wales they removed it and replaced it with a standard roller blind, however it's easily identifyable as the aperture is centrally placed as opposed to being slightly offset to the right as on the rest

    Northern Pacer Withdrawals - Info?

if I were them I'd make at least one of them a 2-car service [ideally a pacer, even if temporarily] on weekdays aswell, as atm the only time that service gets a pacer is on Saturdays!

    Northern Class 142 sightings

it was only replaced early last year when it had a ¿C6? overhaul, I was quite sad to see it go coz it would've been absolutely ideal to preserve like that (simply strip the pastel blue paint off the internal panelling and voila!)

Northern Unit Refurbishments and depot allocations.

It'd be nice if just on 105/7/9 they leave the lighting & white panelling as it is, the shades used are FAR easier on the eye!

no 344's the last one, does anyone know when it's leaving? I imagine it'll be within the next few days

Odd how it says it's timed for 90mph and 158s are the only members of the Sprinter family that can do 90, but there aren't any 158s still at Kilmarnock surely? If this is 155343 returning, then 344 must be leaving imminently, inwhich case when I saw it at Wakey Kirkgate on Monday was the last...

    Northern class 153 livery question

The swooshes should face the original outer cab end of the unit, the Northern ones face the inner end

    Northern class 153 livery question

Does anyone know why Northern's 153s have the purple & white swooshes applied facing the wrong way? (ie with the stripes at the inner end) https://www.flickr.com/photos/140981806@N06/42356743625/in/dateposted/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/140981806@N06/42542297614/in/photostream/ I can't be the...

It's more like what you'd find on cheap office chairs than train seats! I do wish they'd go back to using soft fabric
