Ex forces personnel usually do well on the sift as they have the correct qualities for that purpose. There are 2 train crew depots at Holyhead one is for VT and the other is ATW. Work experience is almost non existent and the only real positive way to enter directly as a driver is for you to register on the Come Aboard ATW mailing list for Driver and await any vacancies that arise. There were 2 vacancies at Holyhead only last year.
