I noticed yesterday whilst driving a truck past Corkerhill Depot southbound on the M77 that there is a portacabin thats painted a very faded BR blue with a grey strip across the windows like a coach. I'll need to try find an image of it. The cabin sits next to the main depot building.

Just to confuse things more one article I read says it was made up of 2 locomotives and 4 coaches which would tie in with a hst but the photos show the amfleet style coaches.

A lot of the areas are pretty flat so drivers will not have to deal with a lot of under bridges compared to a city or hilly area.

It must be something else as class 37s ran the line for years with a much longer bogie wheelbase then. I'll not count the 66s as their bogies steer. I'd recon the vehicle length would make more sense as even the mk5s are not as long as a 170. Also is it possible that they are not cleared as...

Unless the Internet is wrong (quite possibly) a quick Google shows the 156, 158 and 170 as all having pivot centres 16m apart. The 170 is about 1m longer though so the vehicle end overhangs will be slightly bigger.

There are at least 3 visible on Google maps streetview but that's from 16 years ago. They should be visible if they have survived from the railway if any members go by that way.
