That Network Rail have seen fit to close the line between Scuthorpe & Cleethorpes for pretty much the entire summer season shows the contempt for Lincolnshire that the DfT has. Can you imagine what would happen if they closed the line between Preston & Blackpool for a summer?

Here's a thought, assuming it wasn't the last train of the day: If you fall asleep & miss your stop, can't you just get the next train back the other way? After all, you've not left the 'wrong' station & so it hasn't been a break of journey. Might be worth a try! Just a little off topic...
