Rail commuter, 25, "slapped and racially abused a security guard"

Generally speaking (I have witnessed this in a work situation in a large company in London), the Asian and Black (Afro Carribbean/African) communities do not mix, and there is sometimes friction. In this instance, is there any CCTV which can verify either/both accounts or is it one word against...

No, you committed a crime - end of, you intended to cheat which is not an error or mistake.

Nothing would surprise me to be honest:)

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

Absolutely nothing since the cheque was cashed after I sent it to IPFAS.

Willfully admitting liability for something you knowingly haven't done

This is definitely the case at my station, where the malfunctioning PTT machine was removed entirely and we still have no ticket machine, yet we still have the warning notices frightening unwary travellers, lest they board a train without previously purchasing a ticket.

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

I was instructed by Transport Focus (after they emailed Southeastern) to send the money to IPFAS.

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

They are after the penalty fare plus two lots of admin charges as well. I cannot get through to the two people I have been trying to contact, whether that is because of deliberate blocking or they really are not there I do not know. I will try later on, or tomorrow.

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

Why do you keep printing £2.30? As they have waived the fine/admin costs and IPFAS have banked the money, then I do not owe them £60. What would they prosecute me for - not paying admin charges/penalty fare that they were going to refund me anyway? --- old post above --- --- new post below ---...

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

It would be the "temporary loss" of £60 which is the PFN [plus admin charges. However, there has been a development. I have just spoken with Southeastern, but I have not been able to speak directly to either of the two people who should have phoned me yesterday. The person on reception...

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

thanks for that less than helpful comment. I assume that you always pay for things which you should't, and let people walk all over you? --- old post above --- --- new post below --- Exactly.

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

A long phonecall yesterday to Southeastern - largely holding on for 16 minutes, where I was asked to phone back today - which I did twice. Both times I was told someone would call me back - which they did not - what a surprise. Today, I was holding on for 39 minutes - words fail me!

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

I was instructed to send payment to IPFAS in the email to me by Transport Focus - which I duly did. Yes, I am reluctant to send another cheque for £3.20 to a different party for the reasons which you have stated. I have phoned Southeastern today, and I have a couple of names to contact...

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

Yes, that is the logic which I am applying here. It should also be noted that in the email which I received from Transport Focus, Southeastern had decided to waive the penalty fare/fine, which tells me that it was invalid to start with - as others on this thread have alluded to. I was from...

Penalty Fare Notice - Feel it is unjust

I decided that there was no valid reason for me to send £60 plus £3.20 to IPFAS, because I cannot afford to shell out that money on something which I should not have to pay. I therefore decided to send £3.20 which is what I owe - not a penny more or a penny less, unless of course you take into...
